"Save My Home"

We have a copy of a brochure from the Department of Housing and Urban Development that might be helpful to anyone who is, or may be, facing foreclosure of their home.  Please read the brochure "Saving Your Home" from H.U.D.

Here's a few tips to consider:

Here's My Top Five (5) Things to Do...
PLEASE NOTE:  This is not legal advise.  Please contact an attorney for legal advise.
1.)  Stay in Your Home.
Don't move out of your home!  It takes time to go through the foreclosure process.  Also, you may not qualify for some assistance programs if you abandon your property.  Furthermore, if you abandon your home, it could possibly become vandalized or damaged.
2.)  Explore the Obvious.
It is inevitable that something will happen.  You will either stay or move.  Start planning now.  "Where will you live if you have to move?"  "Is there equity in the home that you can receive by selling it?"  "Do you really want to stay in the home?" Ask yourself the obvious questions and start planning for the near future.
3.)  Contact Professionals.
Contact your lender to see if you can qualify for any assistance programs.  Contact a lawyer for legal advise.  Contact a real estate broker for real estate advise.  Contact various credit counseling agencies   for credit advice.
4.)  Beware of Scams.
Watch out for con artists.  If the deal sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't true.  Contact professional advise.
5.)  Act Now !
Don't Wait!  There is some time to explore your options, but the longer you wait, the less choices you will have.  If you do nothing, you will lose your home!
